What each phase looks like

Discovery & Self-Reflection: We start with depth interviews and values exercises (Compass, Lifemap, Rolemap) to understand what drives you. This isn't surface-level—we're uncovering your authentic motivations and finding the threads that connect your varied interests. This self-knowledge becomes the foundation for everything else.

Profile Building (Grades 9-10): Strategic guidance on course selection, summer opportunities, and extracurriculars. We track your activities systematically through Activity Journals, building toward your eventual activities list. We meet 2-3 times per year, with regular self-reflection check-ins to capture how your interests evolve.

Research & Campus Exploration (Grade 11): Learn my strategic research methods to identify 8-15 colleges where your profile resonates. Plan meaningful campus visits with my visit form template and debrief framework. We'll decode what you're actually experiencing on campus and use those insights to refine your preferences. Your activities list takes shape as we position your experiences strategically.

Application Preparation (Spring Junior - Summer Senior): Your self-reflection work pays off as we craft your narrative. We'll finalize your activities list—not just listing what you've done, but framing it to show depth, leadership, and impact. Begin essay brainstorming rooted in the self-knowledge you've developed. Plan final campus visits to answer specific questions.

Application Execution (Senior Fall): Weekly or biweekly meetings during peak season. Finalize your activities list with strategic ordering and descriptions (150 characters that work hard). Complete all essays with multiple rounds of feedback. Every element—from activities to essays—connects to the authentic story we've developed through your self-reflection work.

Decision Support (Senior Spring): Use College Experience Prototyping exercises to envision yourself at each option. Visit admitted student days with strategic questions. Compare not just costs but complete fit across all dimensions. Your decision is grounded in the deep self-knowledge we've built together.
